Cutting Down Routines
If you read my last blog entry then you would know I am doing much better with my OCD. But I am still struggling to maintain what would be considered a "normal" routine. My nightly routine has continued to expand over time, and it is now taking quite a while to complete. I tend to do things multiple times until they, "feel right," which is very hard to accomplish. So that you can get a better picture of my routine I am going to list it down below...
- Shower (rinse out conditioner for what seems like forever, and wash body with TONS of soap. Also spend a while scrubbing at feet when clearly they are clean.)
- Skin care regimen
- Brush teeth (try not to gag myself, which I have been doing good on, but still let out at least one gag)
- Put on loads of chap stick until it "feels right"
- Brush hair
- Get water (drink out of faucet until I can't breath and fill water to the very top of the cup)
- Brush hair again
- Take sip of water
- Put more chap stick on
- Get more water out of the faucet
- Use bathroom
- Brush hair again
- Bed
Complicated, I know. So, I am creating some goals for tonight and the rest of the week to...
- Cut down on the amount of soap I use to scrub my body
- Stop scrubbing my feet so much
- Have only ONE sip of water before bed
- Put on one coat of chap stick
- Brush hair ONCE
- Stop gagging for good
I am really anxious to see if I can do this but I truly believe in myself. I want to be able to go to bed like a normal teen without being worried that I didn't brush my hair enough, or put enough chap stick on. Can I do it? Tune in tomorrow to find out...duh duh duh...
