Cutting Down Routines

If you read my last blog entry then you would know I am doing much better with my OCD. But I am still struggling to maintain what would be considered a "normal" routine. My nightly routine has continued to expand over time, and it is now taking quite a while to complete. I tend to do things multiple times until they, "feel right," which is very hard to accomplish.  So that you can get a better picture of my routine I am going to list it down below...

  1. Shower (rinse out conditioner for what seems like forever, and wash body with TONS of soap. Also spend a while scrubbing at feet when clearly they are clean.)
  2. Skin care regimen
  3. Brush teeth (try not to gag myself, which I have been doing good on, but still let out at least one gag)
  4. Put on loads of chap stick until it "feels right"
  5. Brush hair
  6. Get water (drink out of faucet until I can't breath and fill water to the very top of the cup)
  7. Brush hair again
  8. Take sip of water
  9. Put more chap stick on
  10. Get more water out of the faucet
  11. Use bathroom
  12. Brush hair again
  13. Bed
Complicated, I know. So, I am creating some goals for tonight and the rest of the week to...

  1. Cut down on the amount of soap I use to scrub my body
  2. Stop scrubbing my feet so much
  3. Have only ONE sip of water before bed
  4. Put on one coat of chap stick
  5. Brush hair ONCE
  6. Stop gagging for good
I am really anxious to see if I can do this but I truly believe in myself. I want to be able to go to bed like a normal teen without being worried that I didn't brush my hair enough, or put enough chap stick on. Can I do it? Tune in tomorrow to find out...duh duh duh...
